Domestic violence is an insidious evil. There is little way a person can experience abuse and not be forever changed by it. Individuals vary with regard to resiliency, with some being more able to overcome the effects than others. But the truth remains that domestic violence creates change - whether or not we are able to overcome the effects of the abuse later in life. Abuse is a significant trauma.
